16 gathered on a nice spring morning in January.  Lots of sweat…..here’s how it went:


  • Helicopters IC X 10
  • Cotton Pickers IC X 10

  • HIgh knees down and back across parking lot
  • Butt kickers down/back
  • Defensive slide burpees across parking lot (one defensive slide, one burpee, 2 DS 2 Burpees……. to 5, then back same pattern)

Thang – partner up

  • Round 1 – Partner A – parking block straddle jumps (Mike Tyson’s over parking block) X 20, then bear crawl to partner at next row of parking spaces
  • Partner B – Carolina Dry docks X 20, wait for bear crawling partner, then mosey to blocks
  • Round 2 – Partner A – Toddler squats X 10, Sumo Squats X 10, Squat Jump X 10, bear crawl to partner
  • Partner B – Carolina Dry docks X 25
  • Round 3 – Partner A – parking block squats X 20 (heels on block, go as low as you can), bear crawl to partner
  • Partner B – Carolina Dry docks X 25
  • High knees down, butt kickers back, rinse repeat
  • Blue Hawaiian lap with 10 calf raises on each step on way back to parking lot
  • Jack Webbs – 1:2 ratio Merkins/Air presses all the way to 10 Merkins/20 Air presses, then back down.  Whew!

No time for warm-o-rama, a strong PAX of 5 got a hard start on covering some ground in foggy conditions.  We rucked to Pete and Nikki’s and back with a little double time mixed in, then did a Double Dipper victory lap (one lap around the circle AFAP).  Distance covered: over 3 miles.

What’s that?  2 of the PAX tried to sign up to Q at the same time?  Imagine that……great problem to have.  Thanks Flanksteak for allowing me to take today.  With no plan just 18 hours prior to today’s workout, YHC thought about an old Mark Chesnutt song, ‘I’ll think of something’.  I think the PAX enjoyed.

  • Partner A:  Bear Crawl to second cone, 10 Diamond Merkins Bear Crawl back. Partner B: LBC’s; flap jack
  • Partner A: Crab Crawl to first cone, 10 Diamond Merkins, Crab Crawl back.  Partner B: SSH
  • Reverse long Blue Hawaiian Lap, back to parking lot.  We repeated all of the above starting with 50 WWI’s, 40 Lunges, 30 Squat Jumps, 20 Hand Release Merkins, 10 Burpees.  Partner work again with sprints down and back instead of suicides – everything else the same.

A repeat of the Iron Pax Challenge that I said after Thursday I’d never do again.  Never say never, or never say what you won’t do.  All exercises done with cinder block.

  • 30 Kettle Bell Swings
  • 40 Goblin Squats
  • 50 Block Irkins

All of this followed by 4 laps around track.  Repeat exercises, 3 laps.  Repeat exercises, 2 laps.  Repeat exercises, 1 lap.


No time or energy for it, so we carried blocks to the road for pick up.

Excellent work this morning.  All PAX completed the challenge in less than 53 minutes.

Announcements – Mr. Roboto: This weekend marks 3 years of F3 in New Bern.  Because of F3, we’re out here doing some strange things that at times really suck, but they would suck more if done alone.  And, it makes us better.
