What’s that?  2 of the PAX tried to sign up to Q at the same time?  Imagine that……great problem to have.  Thanks Flanksteak for allowing me to take today.  With no plan just 18 hours prior to today’s workout, YHC thought about an old Mark Chesnutt song, ‘I’ll think of something’.  I think the PAX enjoyed.

  • Partner A:  Bear Crawl to second cone, 10 Diamond Merkins Bear Crawl back. Partner B: LBC’s; flap jack
  • Partner A: Crab Crawl to first cone, 10 Diamond Merkins, Crab Crawl back.  Partner B: SSH
  • Reverse long Blue Hawaiian Lap, back to parking lot.  We repeated all of the above starting with 50 WWI’s, 40 Lunges, 30 Squat Jumps, 20 Hand Release Merkins, 10 Burpees.  Partner work again with sprints down and back instead of suicides – everything else the same.

A repeat of the Iron Pax Challenge that I said after Thursday I’d never do again.  Never say never, or never say what you won’t do.  All exercises done with cinder block.

All of this followed by 4 laps around track.  Repeat exercises, 3 laps.  Repeat exercises, 2 laps.  Repeat exercises, 1 lap.


No time or energy for it, so we carried blocks to the road for pick up.

Excellent work this morning.  All PAX completed the challenge in less than 53 minutes.

Announcements – Mr. Roboto: This weekend marks 3 years of F3 in New Bern.  Because of F3, we’re out here doing some strange things that at times really suck, but they would suck more if done alone.  And, it makes us better.

15 men watched a glorious sunrise while getting some work done.  Here’s what we did:


  • Helicopters IC X 10

Mosey around Union Point and gather at swings where we partnered up for


4 stations completed in clockwise rotation

  • Station 1 – Swing Set Merkins – a swing seat in each hand, complete Merkin while partner holds feet.  10 Reps, then switch until a total of 3 sets each
  • Station 2 – clearing between 2 swing sets – LBC’s until time to rotate, more than expected
  • Station 3 – Swing Sets (south side) – pull ups X 10, 3 sets here to 30
  • Station 4 – clearing between park grill and east side swing sets – lunge walk towards river, backwards run to grill, repeat until time to rotate
  • Curb 7’s, west side was hand release burpees, bear crawl to east side curb for Irkins, crawl bear back.  Easily the PAX’s favorite section of the workout.
  • Swing Set abs – feet in seat and pulled to chest – 25  OYO, 6 PAX at a time went while rest did dips.
  • Raccoon Crawl – in front of convention center, hold plank for the 6.
