Eight brave PAX emerged from the darkness on Halloween morning to face a haunted high school, escape the zombies, and survive a series of tricks and treats. Not everyone made wise choices, but everyone survived!
1. Awakening the Dead
We kicked things off with…
– 31 SSH
– 10 Imperial Walkers
– 10 Windmills
– 10 Sun Gods (Forward and Reverse)
– 5 Boopees
With the dead sufficiently awakened, we completed one lap before beginning our Halloween adventure.
2. Trick or Treat – Haunted Parking Lot
Four corners, four choices. Would the PAX choose wisely?
– Corner 1: TRICK! 5 Boopees
– Corner 2: TRICK! 20 Lunges
– Corner 3: TREAT! 20 LBCs
– Corner 4: TREAT! 10 Jump Squats
3. The Coffin Factory
We made our way to the covered area for two rounds of:
– 10 Step-ups per leg
– 20 Dips
– 20 Incline Merkins
– 13 Zombie Squats (because 13 is unlucky!) (We somehow ended up with 7 additional of the 2nd Round)
– Mosey down the steps to the curb for 20 Derkins.
No resting in these coffins!
4. Zombie Migration
The PAX headed toward the back of the school and Dracula’s Dungeon, with a brief stop along the way for 10 Walking Lunges per leg and 5 Boopees.
5. Dracula’s Dungeon
With 8 PAX, we paired up into four teams. One PAX performed the Vampire Risings while his partner spotted him, then they switched roles.
We completed two cycles of:
– 10 Vampire Risings (Pull-ups)
– 10 Coffin Pushes (Merkins)
– 10 Zombie Squats
– 20 Graveyard Crunches (LBCs)
6. Escape the Zombies
Off to the track for two rounds of:
– Lap 1: Indian Run
– Lap 2: Zombie Chase – 100 meters fast, 100 meters easy
We repeated the sequence for a full mile of running.
But Dracula wasn’t finished with us! We returned to the Dungeon, reunited with our partners, and completed two more cycles of Vampire Risings, Coffin Pushes, Zombie Squats, and Graveyard Crunches.
7. Return of the Living Dead
Time for one final Trick or Treat!
Hambone chose TREAT! Unfortunately for the PAX, the treat was taking the long way back to the front of the school, around the other side of the campus by way of the road.
A reminder that on Halloween, you should never trust the person offering candy!
8. The Final Curse – 10/31
Back at the front entrance, we finished with:
– 10 Merkins
– 10 Squats
– 11 Boopees
31 final repetitions in honor of October 31!
A short Mary of various stretches helped return the living dead to something resembling normal.
COT
We counted, named, had announcements, and prayed.
All PAX survived the Halloween beatdown and most made their way to Carolina Bagel for some well-earned coffeeteria.
Closing thought: We covered plenty of ground, conquered Dracula’s Dungeon twice, survived a mile of zombie chases, and learned that Hambone should never be trusted to pick the easy route.
Great work! No better way to start Halloween than with fellowship, accountability, and a little suffering.
