Festival of Lights- The Point

19 hearty fellas came out for quite the beatdown. With Hanukkah ending, we took some time to acknowledge the 8 nights of the holiday and visit Temple B’Nai Sholem along the way.

Warm-O-Rama

  1. SSH IC x 8
  2. 2 Burpees
  3. Forward arm circles x 8, Reverse x 8
  4. 4 Burpees
  5. Dreidel pickups IC x 8
  6. Quad stretches x 8 seconds each leg
  7. 2 Burpees
  8. Touch your toes x 8 seconds

The Thang (see the figure 8 we made below)

  1. Mosey to the boat ramp end of Union Point
    1. 8 Burpees
    2. Groiners x 8 then Diamond Merkins x 8…rinse and repeat
  2.  Mosey to E Front & Pollock
    1. 7 Burpees
    2. “Irk MeDerk”- Irkins x 8 immediately into Merkins x 8 immediately into Derkins x 8…rinse and repeat
  3. Mosey to Christ Church outdoor Chapel
    1. 6 Burpees
    2. Inclined spider lunges IC x 8
  4. Mosey to Temple B’Nai Sholem
    1. 5 Burpees
    2. “Light the Menorah”- Squat, reach up with left hand and light one of the 8 candles (aka 8 squats)…then flapjack to the right hand
  5.  Mosey to the Craven County Courthouse
    1. 4 Burpees
    2. Squat mountain (1st step- 1 squat, 2nd step- 2 squats…up to 8th step with 8 squats (i.e. 36 squats), then 8 Merkins, Al Gore for the 6.  Rinse and repeat.
  6.  Mosey to City Hall
    1. 3 Burpees
    2. Carolina Toe Touches (Carolina Dry Dock position, then left hand to right foot; sorta like shoulder taps, but your toes instead) IC x 8 then Carolina Dry Docks OMD x 8…rinse and repeat
  7.  Mosey to S. Front, wall along Nautical Wheelers
    1. 2 Burpees
    2. Mountain climbers IC x 8 then Donkey Kicks x 8…rinse and repeat
  8.  Mosey to the Pedestrian bridge
    1. 1 Burpee
    2. Noah’s Ark- 2 at a time, reverse lunge x 8 (4 each leg) , then bunny hop x 8, then reverse lunge x 8, bunny hop x 8 until across the bridge.  While waiting to go (or when finished), squat low with elbows pressing the medial knee outward
  9.  With time to spare, we took advantage of the wall with:
    1. Twinkle toes wall sit- left foot down, right leg in air, each Pax with an 8-count of pointing toes, then flapjack to left foot
    2. Finally, an 80-second wall sit
  10. All you got to the grass field by the Gazebo
