12 Days of Ruckmas – Year 2

“Wait!” you say. “Didn’t this workout happen in 2019?!” Yes, you’re correct. We’ll say it was due to some potential camera footage that YHC didn’t want to corroborate on until the chance of any breaking news was past.  Yeah, that’s it; and there was no breaking news to speak of. So, backblast or it didn’t happen, right Bitcoin?

This was year 2 of the 12 Days of Ruckmas, YHC thinks we can all say that it was a little bit easier this year, but only a little. Maybe we were just better.

The workout was performed in the order of, and while singing to the tune of, the 12 Days of Christmas. We followed the pattern of day 1, day 2-1, day 3-2-1, day 4-3-2-1, etc.

Rucks were on or held for all movements except #6 and #9.

The workout (and song lyrics) are as follows:

On the ___ day of Christmas, my Cadre gave to me…
1 Merkin with your heavy ruck on.

2 Man-makers.
3 Overhead Presses.
4 Simple Squats.
5 Foooouuuurrrrr Count flutter kicks.
6 Body weight merkins.
7 Rucks a thrusting.
8 Front hold lunges.
9 Standard sit-ups.
10 Rucks a curling.
11 Mountain Climbers.
12 Monkey Humpers.

We started in the gazebo where we did days 1-3. Then we rucked it to the Nautical Wheelers back parking lot where we got up to day 6 or 7, hard to remember exactly at this point. We then moved to the Drive-through banking lanes of the BB&T on S Front. YHC can only imagine the reaction of anyone who might have reviewed the security footage from this morning and see 4 grown men doing monkey humpers in the drive through whilst singing Christmas songs. That didn’t stop us though.

The previous year we were a little late back to the Gazebo, but this year we completed all 12 days within the confines of the 45 minutes, but there was no time for Mary as YHC can recall. Names, Announcements and prayes of thanks for the coming holiday.
