The Fartlek – Backblast

3 hardy men left the warmth of their beds on this crisp 12 degree morning to begin their week with some fun and a little pain. After some mumble chatter at the Bear about a football game known as the Ice Bowl, YHC decided to research and inject some of the history into our workout. With no FNGs we started right away with….

Sun Gods x 21 IC 4CT (Forward and Backward) (21 reps because the Packers, led by Bart Star, scored 21 points)
Hillbillies x 17, IC 4 CT (17 reps because the “hillbilly” Cowboys scored 17 points)
Plank Jacks x 15, IC 4 CT (15 reps because the temperature was 15 below zero)
SSH x 48 IC, 4 CT (48 reps because the temperature factoring in the wind chill was 48 degrees below zero.)
Downward dog calf stretches


We moseyed over the main parking lot and found a path that did not require ice skates and ran 21 laps. We then moseyed back to the staff parking for modified Doracides – Team A did exercises while I ran suicides, we then switched until we reached the goal of 50 Merkins, 100 LBCs, and 150 Squats. (This was an overachieving crowd and we of course did more than stated goal.)
We then moseyed back to main parking lot for 7 more laps, before doing 21 dips and 17 irkins.
We then moseyed back to the parking lot for Mary consisting of 48 LBCs and 15 Low Slow Flutter.
We closed with a brief Prayer.

The forecast is improving and we need Q’s!
